What do normal people think about Apple products?

An iPod touch is now the same price as an Amazon Kindle Fire (Android), the iPod nano seems to be a perfect workout companion, the iPhone 4 is now $99, and the price of an iPhone 3GS is "free" (the latter two with contract). I wonder what "normal people" think about these other product updates? Ya know, the people who don't need to live on the bleeding edge like those of y'all with pent-up nerdrage.
