Do you think Google+ needs, or will start integrating with other social networks? Do you think one day you'll be able to post to google+ from either twitter or Facebook like you can between those two currently? Or even integrate with stuff like ping.fm. Do you even think it needs to? |

It would be great if Ping.fm get support for Google plus. 1
yes. Additionally my tumblr is setup to post to twitter. Twitter is set to post to facebook. Then I have twitterfeed.com setup to post things from my tumblr rss & google+ rss to my personal facebook page (and send google+ posts to twitter). Additionally I have the Publish sync google chrome extension that can allow me to post things from google+ to facebook/twitter, or from twitter to google+/facebook, or from twitter to facebook/google+ (haven't used publish sync yet but it's there for when I want it!) But being able to synchronize all my social networks would be great. Especially if I EVER get a smart phone with a data plan I can post to ping.fm when I'm out of the house. |

Couple of things about this: 1) It raises the question of whether it makes sense to post the same content to multiple social networks -- realistically, why would you want to post to Google+ from Facebook (or vice versa) to do anything except drive traffic to one or the other (or both if you're cross-posting)? It's arguably a less authentic social networking experience if you're reading or broadcasting the exact same content cross-platform/cross-network. 2) Google+ as a service will probably never offer what you're talking about, but third parties will and already do. Or you can do it yourself with a little bit of exploration. You can use ifttt.com to post to all networks at once, or to integrate other networks into each other to some degree. And that's accessible to someone who isn't even a dev. Put the APIs into capable hands and watch what happens. I appreciate what you say about posting to all networks at once. What I find is, yes thetevare something's I will only post to Facebook, or Twitter, or Google+. Thus giving each a different perspective on my life (for instace you could call locker gnome.net a kind of social network, but I wouldn't post this to Facebook. However, there are thing I wish tobpost everywhere as I am aware that some people only read one of the networks, these included things like my initial reaction to the death of Steve Jobs, and those kinds of things I want to post everywhere, and get annoyed that I have to currently switch for google+. thanks for your answer. WHAT THIRD PARTY GOOGLE+ APPS CAN DO THAT? there are things on Google+ i'd really love to share with ease to facebook, but it's a big pain in the a** whenever I try it. so, what'd you recommend? |

In that case, you should really check out ifttt.com! It's really easy to use and makes it possible to post to multiple networks simultaneously. It can also raise your kids and brush your teeth. Okay, maybe not the last part. But it's really neat! Check out this Mike Elgan post from Google+ for more on how to post to Google+ via e-mail, then create recipes with ifttt.com to post to other networks or do any number of other things: http://bit.ly/nDlXt7 |
