No, it isn't meant to be used as a main OS yet. You could do it, but I wouldn't. At least wait until beta, or the release candidate. You could set it up to dual boot with Windows 7 for now....

Not now. It's in beta. You have a good, stable operating system, why would you even consider trading that for an unstable os in beta? I'd at least wait until it's officially released and with Window's track record, I'd wait until it's been released and there is good user feedback about it. It could be the next Vista.

its only in beta now so as it gets closer to release you'll be able to make a more informed decision but it depends on how your using your computer and what your willing to give up. W8 will be a completely different interface, much more personal and intuitive than previous windows versions. if your using it for business reasons i wouldn't recommend it, at least from what i know about it. for home use though i think it looks awesome and would be a wonderful os for browsing the web checking emails playing games, those sorts of things.

The only version of Windows 8 that is currently available is the developer preview. It is meant to serve as an introduction for developers to try their hand at creating metro style apps. The developer preview is considered to be highly unstable, and feature incomplete. As such, you should not try to run windows 8 as your primary operating system.

Remember, this isn't even a beta. This is alpha code that is still in development. It should be treated as such.
