Windows 7 has been a damn good version. Windows 8 is shaping up to be a series of incremental improvements - although it remains to be seen how well Metro will play alongside Aero. As long as people aren't pushed in and out of disparate experiences, I think it'll be wonderful.

Are you holding off on new PC purchases for Windows 8? That, and how come the commercials say "I'm So-and-so, and Windows 7 was my idea," but nobody ever takes credit for Windows Vista?

My next computer will MOST LIKELY be a Macintosh, however if it will be a PC then I will still probably not wait. Windows is based off of one another, besides if my specs are good I can still get the theme. Of course I won't have office and things, but I just care about specs and BEING ABLE TO DO WHAT I NEED. Hope you liked this answer. Have a good day! :)

My current PC can handle Win 8 fine but I’m quite happy with Win 7 & I feel it’s too soon for Win 8.

But, If I was currently in need of a new PC, I’d probably wait for Win 8 to be released before purchasing a new PC.

My current system will last beyond the release of Windows 8 so when I need a new system it will come installed with Windows 8. Normally I have been putting my systems together however based on cost it is just easier and cheaper to buy one these days.
