If you could change the legal driving age in your area, what would you change it to? Would you change it at all? http://www.lockergnome.com/news/2011/10/10/driving-distractions-and-legislation/ |

Currently in KY you can get your permit at 16, Intermediate License at 16 1/2 and Full License at 17. I never had an Intermediate License. I had my Full License at 16 1/2. To me, that worked fine. So my answer is permit at 16 and license 6 months later. |

I believe that in all jurisdictions. The amount of time you drive with an adult preferably your parents or someone of some similar age (about 20 years older) should be more, WAY more. I'm talking about the time that you get a learners permit and you are practicing. And that the age you can get a learners permit is raised from 14 to 16. I think that you should have hundreds of hours of driving with a parent before you can get a full license. I have thought for years that the legal driving age should be 18. And even in some countries IE Japan you have to me 20 to Drive/Drink/Smoke. |

I think it works well as it is in Sweden. You can begin driving with an instructor when you're 16. Anyone can fulfill a course to become an instructor as long as they've had a drivers license for 10 years. Then you can take your license when you're 18. Currently the biggest problem with new drivers are that they don't take the "don't drink and drive" slogan seriously. Last week it's the 6th time one of my friends die to a car crash when drunk driving. Even I have been driving when tipsy. I cannot understand why people still don't understand it. |
