Hello, I have a 2011 MacBook Pro 2.0Ghz, and I have a Thunderbolt Display hooked up to it. I suddenly noticed the computer is a bit hot and sometimes the fans kick at points that it seems unexpected, like watching a YouTube video on 720p. These are the temps I get at normal work (no special apps or games, just Safari, iTunes, Mail etc..):
Thanks a lot :) |

yea thats normal. i think intel says its not a problem until 100. but i don't like getting mine over 80. smcfancontrol is a good way to monitor it and keep it cooled down. |
|
Yea don't worry about it! My MacBook Pro goes that hot too. Nothing to fret about. |
|
Sounds about right. Can't expect superb cooling on something that skinny, with mid-high end parts. |

I think it seems to be somewhat casual. Nothing to worry about. Those are kind of low anyways. It you are THAT worried get a 20 or 30 dollar chill mat if you wish. They really do help. :) Hope I helped and have a good day. |

2.0 GHz CPU on a laptop and playing YouTube videos in 720p? That's definitely a reason for the fan to spin up.
