I Recently setup a second monitor onto my computer. Im running windows 7, and i would like the ability to make it so i can show the desktop on one monitor, and run a certain program on the other monitor.

Is this possible, and if so, do i need to install some software?

I didn't see your question at first, but now I think I'm understanding what you mean.

From what (I believe) you're telling me, you want to have it so that your screens don't mirror. If this is what you want to do, open up Control Panel/Appearance and Personalization/Display/Screen Resolution. When you're there, go to where it says "Multiple Displays," and select "Extend These Displays." This should make it to where your screens aren't mirrored anymore.
