I still have an iPhone 3GS. I can't upgrade until January 2012 if I want the 4 or 4S. So I just went ahead and put iOS 5 on my 3GS like most people. But I came to find out that I don't have all the same features.

I knew I wouldn't have Siri. But I also don't have the ability to use BOLD, Italics, or underline. Another big one I was looking forward to was location based reminders. But I don't have them.

What are some other features the iPhone 3GS will miss out on from iOS 5?

That's interesting. My iPod Touch 3rd Gen (Yeah Yeah it's different but about the same from a core hardware perspective) has the Rich Text features. hmm, interesting move Apple.

Good question. Thumbs Up! I also have an iPhone 3G[s], and on firmware 4.3.3, jailbroke & unlocked. Do you notice any performance drops & less battery life with iOS 5? I'm kind of freaked out with Siri, because the thought of machines taking over is frightening!

Thanks Robert. Honestly, my phone feels faster with iOS 5. Now part of that is probably me just wanting it to be faster with a new update, but I have no issues. I think you will be happy with the update!

My 3rd Gen iPod Touch is actually noticeably faster with iOS 5. Granted it's had an occasional software hiccup or two.
