Switching to SSD doesn't mean having to lose your ability to store all of your most important information. There are plenty of secondary drives out there. Which one would you recommend?

since 2TB drives are so cheap, i wouldn't go over that, i have learned the hard way not to go with higher capacity drives until there affordable.

now that i'm stuck with 2 2tb drives (it's kind of a good thing because i can backup), i bought a 2TB drive that was quite expensive at the time, put all my data onto it and it started to fail, so rather than loose all the data i had to buy another 2tb drive and transfer everything over, send the bad 2tb drive back for replacement. so now i have 2.
