Hi guys, I just had a quick question about Siri. In Apple's Siri video, it appears that you can use this feature as part of the OS, without having to open up a traditional application. You can use it while running (which I do a lot of), in the car, or while doing various other tasks. However, I was wondering if you can really use Siri with this amount of ease. It would seem logical that you would have to unlock your phone every time you would like to say a voice command. If this isn't the case, then would someone be able to pick up your phone, and prank call everyone in your address book, or delete important information on your phone? This seems like a huge security bug, but otherwise it takes the ease out of using this voice activated technology. |

This article should help you: http://www.pcworld.com/article/241977/how_to_prevent_siri_access_on_a_locked_iphone_4s.html#tk.hp_new Thanks for the information. This allows both operating modes as I was trying to describe. I do think this setting is better left turned off by default, but it depends whose iPhone it is. |

I don't have it but I imagine a log in is required to use it, which is quite a hassle. |

You don't have to unlock the Phone. But I don't know yet if it limits the commands. I guess I'll try a few. I do have an iPhone 4S and its cool! To add to this, I don't have a code to get past my lock screen. But it does let me do the "Message" command 1
This seems like Apple is sure lacking a lot of security with this feature. I agree with @KylePolansky. If you can access all features without a passcode then this is a terrible security flaw. |
