Hi guys,

I bought a second hand nintendo wii and i have it all set up and connected to my wi-fi, if i select the wii shop channel it says : update system software.

when i select update system software it takes 2 minutes and then i get the error message :

error 32017, there has been an error, the update failed.

When i googled the error message i got on a couple forums where they say that there is a "homebrew channel installed". I don't see this on my wii and tried to reset to fabric in the wii menu, but it doens't help.

Does some1 have a solution for this?

Thanks!

the problem is the system won't update, thats why i get the error message, and nintendo says : send it in! (which is rediculous because that costs alot of money

if homebrew is installed than its hacked which has probably messed with it, you can try and format it from the wii settings, this will wipe it clean but you can back up most of your game data to an SD card, this could fix it though :)
