Is there any point having an iPad if you don't have regular access to Internet? I am a dedicated iPad owner and fan (infact im writing this on mine as I type!), however I rarely use it if there is no wireless access in reach! So it surprised me to find out that someone I know has bought one, despite not having Internet access at all at home! It got me wondering what is the point of having an iPad without Internet? |

The iPad really is a web device. From email to you tube, it is a media and entertainment hub. This being said, people can use the iPad and be satisfied with the offline apps and built in media from iTunes. I don't see having an iPad without an internet connection as a problem. Angry Birds could beat Facebook any day in enjoyment. |

Well I guess it depends on what you want to do with the Ipad in question. Some just want to use it to be like an ebook. Others want the internet and be able to hook it through there and do what they need to do with it. Like for me I am not expecting everyone who has a windows or a Mac to know programming on their computer systems. Even though it is helpful when you need to make something customized specifically for your specific needs at home to do what you want it to do. Or creating a specific Database to do what ever you want it to do at home in Microsoft Access or in Open office Database equivilant. |

While I agree with Benjamin, I always take mine when I'm going somewhere without Wi-Fi. I'll load up a few movies and games I haven't played and use it as my entertainment. I think it would suck to have no Wi-Fi, but having an iPad would be cool in that situation because one could bring it to a coffee shop to download new stuff (magazines, articles, games, movies) then bring it home with them. Like a shopping basket for the internet. |
