No "official" stores, no "apple quality support", not even outline or plans by apple to come to india, a market which clearly welcomes great products and innovations, we hav huge apple fans here, enthusiasts n sort of people...even communities.

but apple seems to ignore us like third world countries, iphone launched here with such a shabby support, their current istore "partnership with reliance" rooms people n exec who cannot even tell u correct specs, models n details about products, forget about "quality service"

many of my frnds who bought apple laptops, which are so much premium priced here compared to US couldnt leverage apple support to maintain their devices properly

i wish to know or evaluate reasons of what is apple strategy towards markets like india, any guesses or blog feeds if u guys know that offer any leaks ?

Well we all know that Apple is behind when it comes to being up to date. Maybe they still think the US and Japan are the biggest markets. Europe doesn't get a lot of love from them either, only UK. Both India and China are countries who many think belong to the third world but times have changed. Suddenly we the western world is the developing countries =/

But then again I can live totally fine without Apple =)

yeah i guess, there is also a reason that they are "too busy" with demands from their current market sphere! but again who m i to speculate anything, it is too late, they never came here! we cant even buy the products online through apple india website!

Well it's uncharacteristic for an underdog to waste an opportunity. But then again Apple is clearly catered to the rich people and India is not exactly full of them yet. Also what I've heard many Indians don't like Apple because it's so closed. So maybe that's a reason.

how do u define "rich" people here :D?

well if your starting computer is at least 1000€ then you need to have some cash. Which is why the mac trend is not very popular in Europe. Normal human beings don't see the reasons to pay up for inferiour hardware..

volume wise india is a huge market, like US consumption of products n brand is a huge deal over here from suzuki to rolce royce everything gets consumed here and people who r into business never regrets or wanna miss out indian market, then why is apple treating us like that?

personally i ve emailed lot of fan letters to apple to even come here, analyse our market and atleast make a small but official arrival so that people can buy their products, which i really like.

I think that Apple is a decision based business. They don't simply expand and grow every chance they get. They research strategic locations for Apple stores and apparently don't think that India is the best place to represent their name. They certainly are proud of them selves. Look at their stores in China. They don't even say "apple" the logo is about 3 feet diameter and it really does say it all.

yeah we know who they are, by ur comment it seems we even shouldnt deserve microsoft, dell, hp etc here..well that is sad on ur perspective, and this also underestimating people n potential of market u haven't been, i mean what is wrong with us or our people if we "invite" them here? bec we love their products n innovations? is this too much to ask? ur comment is not valid and quite an insulting one as it clearly seem u dont know a thing about india n its market and out rightly labelled ur opinions on us, hm! anyways u are free to put up ur thoughts, but be constructive somewhere, peace!

They're picky about where they expand to. They open businesses in smart places. No one cares about India.

yeah probably no one also cares what u think or perceive about us, just be respectful as to whatever u say or don't say at all, even i can pass judgements on u n beyond but its no point reacting to people like u for the better part of this great community n people! shame on u & behave !
