Is Norton 360 helping my computer in any way now that it is expired? |

use microsoft security essential + malware bytes, both free n best apps, bar none |

Maybe. The question is, how much will it help. Most of the times the scanner will still scan for viruses, malware and nasty stuff like that. However, the scanner will be outdated and pretty much useless after 2-3 weeks. You'll become a honeypot for viruses. Something that is more important is that the performance of your pc will be wasted. Your pc has work pretty hard with a virus scanner on the background and especially with Norton (at least, that used to be the case). My advice is to remove Norton and install something free like AVG, Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials, like recommended before. Those will be up-to-date most of the time and give a much better protection for a much better price! |

Yes - it tells you that you haven't paid for it and uses too many of your computer's resources to tell you to buy it again. AVG is a good free alternative, but I prefer to use "COMODO internet security" because it has a firewall and anti-spy built in. Its normally a bit tricky to find the full, free version and is not the most friendly UI, but you should be able to navigate it well. It never let a virus through for me, and is very customisable. To save you the inconvenience, here is the link to the download page: Download Link :) (it does say Comodo Firewall, but if i found the correct version, it should have antivirus too). Hope I helped you. |

I've used Avast for the past few years, it's been more than just great and it's used by my friends and even the PCs at my office. |
