Why would you say that blogging is NOT dead, or a waste of time? What makes it good?

I certainly wouldn't say that blogging is at its climax it one had in the beginning of the "Web 2.0" era, but I wouldn't say you shouldn't still blog. I think one of the struggles bloggers have, including myself, is getting to the point where we don't know we exactly fit in, and what we should write about. I still continue to keep my "blog". I post my personal thoughts, an coverage of tech stories, but I am stuck in this rut of not knowing wether to jump into being a tech blog with a small team covering tech, or just to keep it at my thoughts and not try to make it some big production.

You can blog for free, and if you enjoy writing, then why not write about your thoughts and share them with others?

I agree with you on this. I do it for creative writing. purposes. Or when I am working on projects dealing with wood working or what ever interests me personally over here. It all depends on your interests and if you want to share them with others as well. I know I usually do this but it will depend on what I am writing about as well. Its just to get my juices flowing over here to see what I can write about. And if there are interests in it then great. If not well its only a few short clicks away into the black hole of the internet never to return.

I use my blog as an extension to my CV as I'm still in the job hunt.

I think it looks more professional than Facebook. I think I have this

I never saw the point in blogging, unless you are the type of person who likes to write a diary.

The only reason I use Blogger is because although I have had my own website that I made myself I'm too lazy to update it so blogger is a lot quicker and easier.

it is dead, literally! unless u develop something that will act as an archive to ur audience, solid, really pro content...

because of abundant of tech junk out there, we are seeing this day, and it also effected serious professionals into serious fields whose audience is swayed away to "easy stuff", remember the easy stuff is always short sighted, and this was the wave these so called tech bloggers surfed onto and made blogging lifeless...

blogging is meant for serious content, very very professional folks, in my industry which is design n cg people work so hard, but our community is not as large as this tech community, and in tech community even a kid can start a blog n podcast easy stuff n people listen, then along with that kid's amateur blog other people also get effected who might be writing damn good stuff...anyways this is my view

i always advocate working honestly and hard and for quality it will come back to u if u got something interesting tos ay
