Are there cheap plans for iphone users?

There are great prices on refurb iPhones on AT&T's website. If you know a friend that works for Boeing or other Company/Organization that on AT&T's Corporate Discount List ... ask if they can sign you up. My iPhone Bill is about $75/month for everything.
