On an iOS device you can register a @me.com">@me.com email by going to Settings, Mail, Add Account then pick iCloud, then tap on the "Get a Free Apple ID" button, enter your location and birthday, tap next then tap "Get a free @me.com">@me.com email address" and follow the screen's directions.

In Mac OS X Lion you go to System Preferences, iCloud, click the "Create an Apple ID" link, enter your location and birthday, tap next then click "Get a free @me.com">@me.com email address" and follow the screen's directions.

you guys who answered this are so wrong and don't know much. i suggest you guys do some research instead of answering questions with non sense thinking you know everything

as Macbook pro/iMac/iPhone owner i know how to do this

so lets start off by saying that you need to go into

www.icloud.com

after this sign in and go into MAIL after this your going to go the top right hand corner and your going to click

SHOW ACTIONS MENU and PREFERENCES from here click on ACCOUNTS and press ADD AN ALIAS

This is a case of basic misunderstanding by the first poster. Looking at the question it isn't hard to see how he thought the question asked for a custom domain. Regardless, attacking him is not the solution.

Of course you have to have an iOS 5 device first.
