So i'm in college right now. I have quickly realized i can't write worth anything so hand writing notes doesn't work to well. Right now looking at the Asus Eee Transformer Tablet. Is there anything better out there at a similar price point.

I mostly use my HP Touchscreen Tablet PC, followed by my iPhone & iPad. The ASUS Transformer is a good Android Tablet, but I might suggest getting a device that will run Microsoft Office & OneNote.

Speech-to-Text technology is something I recommend =0p...

EverNote is another app worth looking at.

try doing what I do.

I record the audio from the lectures and use the camera in my phone to take pictures of what ever the professor writes.

If any calculations are involved, I will write that down in more of a tutorial form in solving so I will know all steps and transformations.

It is better to make note taking as efficient as possible so you spend less time doing it. remember the brain cant truly multitask, if you are taking notes then you are not truly comprehending what the professor is saying unless they stop and give time to take notes.

EVERNOTE & Dragon Dictation works great in your scenario. That's what I do. {Thumbs Up!}

Thanks for the suggestions Would this keyboard work with the EEE pad tablet. I would prefer not to have to spend another 150 on the asus one. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Logitech+-+Keyboard+for+Android+3.0%2B+Tablets/2678471.p?id=1218345204619&skuId=2678471

Yes, that will work with your tablet. Do you really want to carry a keyboard to all your classes?

I don't think i would mind. The keyboard looks small enough that it would just fit right into my messenger bag

I just re read your post is there any device at around the same price point that runs one note. I really like one note, its just all the ultra portable laptops are more than i can afford and the windows based tablets are the same.

I was at Best Buy today and took a look at the (Smart?) Pen. Or the Echo pen, i can remember. Anyways, its an electrical pen that keeps a record of everything you write down, and keeps it in its internal memory as a PDF. thats pretty damn sweet. It's also a voice recorder and I think there are a few other features like language translation. And this is all in a pen.

I think it costs like 150 for the 2gb version.

The reason I believe this beats a tablet at note taking is because when you type onto a virtual keyboard, you're not really imprinting into your brain the material. A tablet is too distracting. I'm in high school, and I find that writing down actual notes with a pen or pencil really helps me remember the material.

150$ for a 2GB Electronic Pen? Seems overpriced.

Most decent scanners have options to convert scanned hand written documents into .txt forms editable or even PDFs. A simple cellular camera now-a-days will also give us the same with reasonable clarity and much much more memory space without having to worry about yet another charger.

Buying the slick keyboard thingy Chris showed for the iPad, is #1 but other then that I'd recommend waiting till he reviews the Kindle Fire. :D

The pens are interesting but its not really what i'm looking for right now. My laptop broke for the 5th or so this would be my replacement for it from bestbuy. I do have a high end desktop i would be using to.

I would recommend a pen and some paper. Works really well for me :)

Here are some of it's top features. It has an unlimited battery life, it never crashes, it's really light and doesn't cost that much and it's renewable!

I use my iPad to take notes. I recommend you Evernote and also Beesy. But I think Beesy is more a professional note taking app because from your notes, the app generate automatically tasks in order to manage effiently your time. What it's great with this app, you can record key moment thanks to timeshifting feature. Thus, you can note on this audio file and send it easily by email

All the best,
