my name is tunji(tj for short), and i own a web design company(sort of). I have the website up and running, for 2 months now http://grappledesigns.com, but today i found that someone created a facebook page 2 weeks ago using my company name.. my questions are:

1) Do you know of any ways for me to register the company name as mine? maybe even online?

2) Should i contact the person and let them know that the name is mine?

3) Do i have any right to claim the name since it isn't registered to me yet?

if you haven't registered it as a company there is nothing you can do about it until you register the company. once you're registered then you can contact the person who owns the facebook page and tell him you have registered that name as your company. it's then down to that person to then decide weather or not they are then going to release the name back to you or not.. i hope this was helpful :)

Did they just make a Facebook page not knowing that you had that name already? Or are they copying/ripping off your company? If the latter, then I believe you have copyright on your content (at least in the US, it's automatic. ) I'd try asking the owner to take it down first and see if they'll do it, and of they do, make your own Facebook as well as profiles on all the other major social networks (Twitter, Google Plus)
