On my blog, I cannot decide whether or not to use Disqus or the default WordPress comments. When you visit sites, are you more likely to comment if you can sign in with a social network or OpenID or do you not care.

I personally prefer not to. even when there is a choice. But I am not everybody and would think most people would prefer to just quickly sign in with there Facebook, twitter or Google account to post a comment rather than to juggle a another account.

I actually prefer to be able to log in with a social network just to make the whole process easier.

If possible, I try to sign in with social network login credentials. It seems to simplify things and speeds up the commenting process. I sign into Lockergnome with Google, and I like how all I have to do is press the Google button and it grabs my credentials and signs me in without having to do anything. I'm in the process of getting social network integration going on my website right now because it makes it much easier to leave comments.

When I read blogs, I only read it. hence I don't want to be bothered by a lot of things when I want to share it w/ my friends, so I quickly look for the FB like button. (since most of my friends only have FB accounts and are not tech savvy) Reason why I'm also here in lockergnome is because it was easy to log in using my credentials from FB and Google.

When A blog does not have the option to help share it QUICKLY, I pity the site and the content cause I am very much willing to share Great blog contents with my friends, but reality bites: I am (most of us) are lazy to enter a of credentials before being able to share it. plus: consider those with slow internet connections (US may have a speedy internet, but what about the rest of the world?) and since I'm only using 3G, it will take some time if I will keep on waiting for those Credential-requiring pages before I can share, so I'd rather just close that webpage w/o sharing it than waste my time waiting for it to load.

using disqus has been a great experience for me as a reader, and since it isn't a requirement to read your content, I see no harm in using it. in fact, I like blogs w/ disqus and feel that those without it are outdated / unmaintained blog sites.
