Hello I recently bought an auria Eq4088p there is no way to run surround sound out of the apple tv without optical audio. So what I am looking for is some sort of converter or cable to take the Hdmi output of my apple tv and convert the audio to the red and white cables ( I beleve it is something like RCA ) but still run Hdmi into my tv. I have found one adapter ... http://www.octavainc.com/HDMI%201x1%20Audio%20Converter.html which is exaclly what I need but it is verrryyyyy expensive, does anyone know of any alternative or cheaper option? I could really use some help guys.

The Red and white cables will not send surround sound to your sound system they will send two channel audio just the left and right speaker when with surround sound from optical audio or HDMI you get 5.1 channel sound. The best thing to do in your case would be to run the HDMI to the receiver and then run the HDMI up to the TV, but this requires a receiver with HDMI.
