Seen as the holiday season is well under way, is it worth waiting the extra few months for the iPad 3 possibly in the March to June 2012 time frame? |
|
My best guess is yes but since the only rumors that I have caught so far ar only a retina display (amazing!) it isn't worth it at this point in time. But through a general perspective of the third version of a product with nearly a full year time frame in between I do think that it is going to be worth it.| Myself I have been lucky with my (next week ex-)work place and the vacation 'bonus' which allowed me to upgrade from the first generation iPad to the second and with my current job I think that as soon as the iPad 3 get announced it's already on my I WILL GET THIS list :). Be patient if you don't fully need it at this point in time (needing in the way of using it for work or presentations instead of just entertainment). |

Probably. We all know that a new iPad will be releasing in Q1 of 2012. You have to make the decision if the price for the iPad 2 is good enough for you to skip waiting for the iPad 3. Suspect the iPad 3 to be at about the same prices as the iPad 2 is normally at without sales prices. |

I just bought an iPad 2 about 2 months ago (ironic). Anyways, here is what I have done in the past, either sell the iPad right before the next one comes out or right after the next one comes out, the price usually doesn't drop until people can get the new one in their hands, and Apple likes to show off or release it either a week or a few weeks before they let people get their eager hands on it. It not clear for all we know it could just be a slight upgrade from the ipad 2. Android is starting to catch up with IOS but isn't there yet. Ice Cream Sandwich looks quite promising |

I view the iPad similarly to the way I view iPods. It isn't necessary to have the greatest and latest version. The iPad 2 would be a great purchase at this moment and I don't think the update will be too impressive. Sure it will have the retina display, faster processors, etc but I think for a casual user, the iPad 2 is just fine. |
