I think Intel processors will shoot up in price, AMD shares will fall, and alot of disappointed consumers.

But one can only understand their position after bulldozer.

An AMD Phenom processor is comparable in performance to an i5 and it's cheaper, so I can't see what you wouldn't get it. AMD is more advanced graphic wise since they bought out ATI.

I would hate to see AMD go, because without AMD, Intel would be the only major CPU vendor, and that's not beneficial to the consumer. If I were to build my own computer, I would definitely choose AMD. I've recommended it to people building their own computer before, and they've always turned out great.

I don't Intel is stupid enough to raise prices. I honestly think this is the start of the end of amd. They couldn't even touch Intel on the desktop market. And unless they make some major pushing in the mobile market. Intel will push them out of that to. The i3 laptops are getting cheaper and cheaper. Graphics i don't know how they are doing. Its harder to judge.

Amd shares will drop even more, but right now, no investor would touch them.

I have a computer or two over here using AMD cpu's over here. Never had problems with them at all. It's a shame that they want to concentration on the mobile sector. Are they still going with the laptop as well too I guess.

While AMD cant compete with intels high end stuff, (most users don't buy the high end stuff anyway) and in the areas where amd has a competing model to an intel one, the prices are generally lower.

They need to advertise their parts better and show that it offers the same performance as many of the intel chips but for less money.

That's kinda what they did with bulldozer and backfired and made them look bad.

It's a shame really.. I've been using AMD processors since I bought my first computer 10 years ago. I've never wanted an extreme processor so AMD was always the better choice. The next computer I build will probably be an Intel 3960X extreme edition system because I can't build an up to date system on AMD platforms. Their best CPU matched Intel over a year ago. I will however still be using AMD graphics over Nvidia mostly because I know my way around the software.

It is very probable that Intel will skyrocket the prices but Intel is based in the US and they don't like monopolies so perhaps the state will sue them just as they did with Microsoft hehe.. Also many supercomputers and servers use AMD chips so there's another loss.
