Each year for christmas I buy myself a new gadget to play around. This year I'd like to go for a tablet. Which one should I go for? On mobile phones I love using android and I love modding the OS. This would be an argument for buying an Android Tablet. But from personal experience and many test reports I know that on the tablet market there is barely any competition for the iPad, at best the very new Android Tablets, but those are neither cheaper nor better than an iPad. So if I'm gonna buy an iPad, which one should it be? Is the iPad 2 worth the extra money? For the extra speed and cameras? Or should I wait for the next iPad? Or should I stick with Android? I'm having a bit of a hard time deciding this without being able to directly compare those devices, I have already been using a Motorola Xoom and an iPad 1 though.

I think you should wait a little while and get the iPad 3 if you can and want an Apple device. There are also better Android tablets coming running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, one of these tablets will be the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime.

The Transformer Prime is too expensive for me. Apart from Siri and a probably better resolution, are there any rumors or theories on what Apples might build into the next iPad?

wait for the tegra 3 CPU's, and if you are not rich, then also consider a netbook, compared to tablets netbooks are significantly cheaper and offer significantly faster hardware and more storage and much more functionality.
