Unfortunately I dont think it will take over Facebook in the amount of users but in my opinion it has already taken over in terms of quality. The user interface is the best I have experienced on a social networking site and its simplicity and introduction of great features such as circles makes it my favourite. Facebook however has been around much longer and its difficult to get people to switch something they are familiar with.
