I am thinking of getting my sister a MacBook Air. She has Sony Vaio something, which is all messed up. The battery lasts for 15 mins at max at full charge and I don't understand how lol. Anyways she is the type of users who browses the web 1 hour a day, listen to some music daily. Light photo editing once a week and document editing/writing once a week. I might think of waiting for the next generation, but I don't think it'll be worth it, we don't need more power. Maybe better battery life could be the thing which I don't think it'll be increased. She definitely wants 13inch, so 15inch MacBook Air won't do. You think we should wait? When is the next generation due? Thanks in advance |

From what I see, anything more than the base 13 inch model would be a waste considering her needs. |

Buying a mac book air for a person who barely uses a pc is a waste of money. Just go to some store and go buy a 400-500 dollar laptop. Thats all your sister would need |

The last release was July 2011. This site might help you decide to wait or buy now http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ |

next gen air is due around may i think, when intels ivy bridge processor is expected to be released. but conserving her needs getting one now would be just fine. |

No, i wont buy her a windows laptop. Mac OS X will be more pratical for her when she starts using it more nd more often in the unviversity. And the Air is thin and sexy, thats what she is loooking for. |
