Alright, a while ago I got my sisters netbook... while trying to turn it on I get "Battery not Identified, Will not be charged... press F1 to continue", we replaced the battery... but after a while the issue came back. I tried all the possible tricks to try and make it recognized. I barely used it because of this issue, however recently after formatting it and installing Ubuntu, I find my self using it WAY more since it is much faster on the new system and I can actually use it. However the battery issue is still quite annoying. Is there anything I can do to try and fix it? perhaps a new battery, again? Perhaps my sister wasn't charging and discharging it properly while it was under her possesion? I'll try anything to get this laptop to work properly.

Could be a sign that the battery contacts on the laptop itself might be damaged.

I got a replacement charger from a Dell Repairman a LONG time ago, could that be the issue?

I wouldn't say no.

Do you still have the old charger? If yes, you might wanna compare the details on both of them such as the Amps and Voltage on the output.
