Which method of backing up is best?

I have a 1TB Physical external hard drive. It is mainly being used as a time machine backup for my Mac. Now that there are services such as iCloud and box.net, should I use those as backup. iCloud ids great for backing up the iPhone but what about my Mac? Should I back everything up on box.net, especially since i have 50GB available for free for registering with my iPhone?

The best answer, I think, would be to use both plus an off-site, non-cloud backup. So you have the external drive at home, your cloud service, and an encrypted external drive at a friend's house or at work or something.

I'm not saying that I do this, just that I should.
