I'd like to be able to stream videos from my laptop over the network to a Wii to watch them on my TV. It's the only way I can think of besides burning them to a DVD since the TV doesn't have wifi and is too old to have an HDMI port. Anyway, I saw that Lifehacker had an article about this using Orb and the Wii internet channel (Link). But the internet channel isn't free anymore, so does anyone know of a free way to do this? As far as I know there is no way to stream to the Wii like you can the PS3 or Xbox 360. Um, you might want to try just connecting your laptop to your TV. The cheapest thing might be to buy the Internet Channel, are you sure they are charging for it again? I paid the $5 for it when it was paid but I don't really think that after they made it free they would charge again... I actually didn't check, I'm about to. Though, when I turned the Wii on for the first time in forever, it needed an update, so now I'm waiting for that. There are ways However is there a way without using a web browser, because that is what @Data is asking. I know there are ways to do it using a Web Browser but I was trying to think of one without a browser. Pretty sure with the wii there isn't. In the best case the TC would want to just hook up his laptop to his tv. |

You can get this program called http://tversity.com/ and it can help you get your videos streaming to the wii. The TVersity Media Server allows any device with a web browser to access the media library and download or stream the multimedia content of the library. It uses a technology called DLNA However is there a way without using a web browser, because that is what @Data is asking. |
