Dell U2711 vs. Apple LED Cinema Display

I have a mid 2010 MacBook Pro. I want to get an external display for it. I really was looking forward to get Tunderbolt Display, but its not compatible with my Mac (stupid apple!, only video could have been compatible)

Anyways which one should I get? Apple's will be so simple to setup just plug and go, but on the Dell i would need some adapters.

What is your opinion I am getting one of them tomorrow.

And if I get any of them will it compatible with 2012 MacBook Pro? Maybe with adapters?
