Hey all, I've searched & tried an awful lot of suggestions, but no joy, as yet.... The trouble is that I have game sounds, but no music. This really sucks since I end up in music venues & can't hear anything beyond the beeps & bips of the system/game sounds. I'm using Mint 9, all updated & have ALSA & Pulse. I would love a SL/Linux guru to step forward & solve this? Here's hoping? Cheers! |

Eureka! I finally found the solution... :) After so many attempts & so many hours on IRC w/Mint folks & in SL w/Linux folk, the fix was sort of an accident~ I found a few posts where a line must be un-commented to do with sound. I did this, but nothing changed (using Snowglobe). I then installed Fire Storm, thinking that might be the fix- still nothing...However, whilst trying to determine whether the spot I was currently in even had any music streaming, the person in IM helping me gave info on how to find this out. I happened to see a small, music icon in the upper right-hand side of the SL screen- but it was grayed out (un-clickable). After I installed Fire Storm & logged back in, I found I could click that music icon- & lo & behold~ I got a pop-up asking if I wanted to allow streaming!!! WooHoo!!! Also, the music is now also working in Snowglobe- so it seems to have been corrected, across-the-board? HTH others who might have this issue. Game sounds only in Second Life, but no music...try the above, Cheers! |

Bump? The issue remains after trying a few more possible fixes... |
