Or for that matter, any wifi or radio waves. However, microwaves, uv rays, and x rays cause cancer. Stuff we use for communication, probably not. When she lectures me about the danger of cell phones, she sounds like one of those conspiracy theorists that think 9/11 was an inside job. Please debunk this myth/conspiracy once and for all! |

Well kpslover007, you can't be certain that phones do not cause cancer. Just because no one got cancer (At least non I heard of) from overuse of cell phones doesn't mean it's entirely safe. Everything in the world emites radiation. Back to that of phones, it does emite radio waves, but it doesn't harm you, at least not that much. Unless you are on your cell phone 24/7, you are relatively safe. I use phones quite a lot. I get calls one after another and I've been keeping this up for a while, nothing really happened to me. So I can say that it is safe to use, and your mother shouldn't worry about you getting cancer from using phones. |

unfortunately no one can say for certainty that cell phones signals can or cant cause cancer. but certainly newer phones are much safer than the older cell phones, old cell phones had a very strong signal which is were all the issues began, this has been reduced considerably with modern phones because of all the cell towers around. with the first phones you could stand miles away from a cell tower, and get reception, they had a huge broadcast strength, modern phones don't have anywhere near the strength they had. |

First of all 9/11 was an inside job. Secondly the communications in a cellphone can't cause cancer simply because the waves are not absorbed by the DNA. They are waaaaaaay to wide. Not even micro waves can be absorbed, x-rays on the other hand can cause damage and even worse of course gamma rays. But sadly folks (especially in USA) rather believe politicians, gossip and Jesus than science -.- |
