Kiosk Computer?

A friend of mine has a karaoke setup with a laptop i want to make him a kiosk for people to request a song. Like a Google docs form and spreadsheet but offline on an intranet

linux and connecting to windows,i can swap to win xp but its a 1.2 celeron so its slow
