Will CPU coolers compatible with Socket 939 and 754 work on AM3 CPU's?

Hey.

So i have an old CPU cooler (Gigabyte G-Power Cooler). It's compatible with Socket 939 and 754 CPU's (since it's 6-7 years old) but will it work with my AMD Phenom II x4? Also will it be more powerful than my stock cooler?

0	You will need new mountings for AM2 and later sockets. However the cooler will still fit if you frankenstein it in somehow.. answered Jan 27 '12 at 14:47 Yarvaxea 4.0k●56●72●113
