How do I get this scratch off my iPhone 3GS screen?

I recently noticed that there's a crack or a long scratch on my iPhone 3GS screen. I don't know how it got there but it's really bugging me. I want a real legit way to take the scratch/crack off the WITHOUT DAMAGING IT MORE is it easy to take the dent off or not? It's bugging me a lot and I don't feel like buying and replacing the screen again for the 2ed or 3rd time.
