Why do people think of Steve Jobs as a god? I have noticed on this site people seem to warship him, why?

I haven't ever seen anyone say Steve was a "god." Rather a genius, someone who, like Fish said, made the tech popular. Lets face the facts, without steve, technology probably wouldn't be as cool as it is today. No iPhones, terrible PCs and Macs alike. Heck, even pixar would be affected. He touched a lot of companies in his lifetime. And He made very large impacts. And I think both individuals deserve credit. Yes, without Dennis a lot of software wouldn't exist. And Without Steve, computer tech would probably still be in the stone age. Point is, we view both as brilliant people, but not as gods. |

He is by no means a "god." In fact, he is quite the opposite. He hurt many people in his lifetime and scorned his daughter, Lisa, and practically ruined her childhood. He was a genius, that is without a doubt true, but he was a self-righteous and self-centered man. It his him I feel the most sorry for. |

Jobs is not the reason why technology is so great. he just came up with another pc from drugs and just another mp3 player what he called the ipod. the name ipod makes it sounds like a nobody came up with it. |

Like you said, This guy did create the programming universe, and did change the world, like steve did. However, steve created items that people use and love. I think people say he's more 'important' because he created a company that changed how technology works, and developed many things that we use today (and will continue to use). |
