I bought a laptop with 64-bit windows pre-installed on it. It came with no windows disk. Is it possible to re-install windows on the laptop without having to go out and buy another disk/licence as this can be costly? I do have another windows disk however i have already used the licence for it. |

Before you go that route, I'd check for a hidden restore partition. Most computer manufacturers started doing this, instead of providing install disks. Some drivers are specific to special buttons & features, so a clean install would not include them. |

yes look for the factory image if there is one boot the laptop and press the button to restore your computer to factory condition. |

there is always a restoration partitian built in, to run the restoration program you need to locate the recovery program in the start menu, it will be in a folder with the companys name, eg HP, Lenovo, Packard bell etc. There will be a restoration program in this folder for you to either create restoration discs (make sure there good discs as you only get 1 copy, i always leave mine on the drive rather than create discs or run the restoration program. |

You can use the Windows disc that you have as long as it is the same version of Windows and that you use the key on the bottom of your laptop. |
