My dad is currently looking for a website builder program. He currently uses front page, which is old, outdated and not even made anymore. He likes the visual interface and not coding, though he can do very minimal. He has the site connect to were people enter their credit cards and control their carts, so that does not have to be programed on the website. He currently is on Windows, but is looking to switch to make. So any Mac or Windows programs can do (he does expect to run Parallels on his Mac). Any answer would be a great help!

You could BUY Dreamweaver that is in Adobe CS5 or CS4. I would recommend CS5 though. It's pretty much the same thing like FrontPage, just a bit better. I have both Frontpage and CS5...but CS5 is about 26 times better.

People who are serious about a business website do not use Wordpress. That's for blogging.

You must have missed the memo cause WordPress.ORG is not just for blogging anymore.

That really depends on the technologies the website is running on. Popular options are:

  • For ASP.NET, use Visual Studio.
  • For Java, use Eclipse.
  • For Flash, use DreamWeaver.

I use Dreamweaver but I am just now getting on the WordPress.org platform and it is awesome! That is what I am going to start using for all my clients websites now. Websites have got to be dynamic to keep up with the times!

Try [Site2You][1] website builder. I think that this is what you want - what you see is what you get editor, absolutely no coding. But if you looking for a free solution you should try Wordpress. Hope this helps :)

I would say that if he will be using it often then Adobe Dreamweaver is a must have. Microsoft has a web tool called Expression but it is no match for Dreamweaver. The only downside is that it is $399 or £420!
