What is a good "preboot" Disk Utility?

I could use a preboot disk utility. I need one that will allow me to create iso files out of physical volumes, kinda like what you can do in the Macintosh Disk Utility.

What I mean by "preboot" is something that I can download as an iso, then burn to a disk, then run it off of the disk from the boot menu.
