Hello. after setting up my new computer with a 120 sdd and a 3tb data drive i would like to change the default windows install path. But when i attempt to use the standard answer of changing the registry key to the new path this cause problems with programs that are already installed and also some windows programs.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersion is the key that most people suggest i change but this causes error with programs that are already installed as i said.

Basically what im looking for is to change the the path for new programs that are installed with out manuely doing it each time.

Only do it when you have first installed Windows 7.

Doing it after as you said causes problems.

But yes changing it in the reg is the only way.
