What is it or could I just use the normal text editor that comes included with Lion?

I use TextWrangler when I'm on OSX. I like using it because of it's sidebar you can use to switch between files instead of the tabs in Notepad++. I like having all my files vertically, rather than horizontally.

Well you want one that show code better than a text editor.

Notepad++ is a great one to use.

There's an app called AppleScript Editor but I don't know if thats the right app to use.

Two other programs which are also available for OSX, windows, and linux OS are Eclipse and Netbeans that you can also download for free. Netbeans you can also add in as well if you choose to do so other languages as well like ruby php, C++ as examples. Try those two as well if you want for OSX.
