What's your favorite inspirational speech from a movie? My hands down favorite has to be Samwise Gamgee's speech at the end of The Two Towers. Amazing Second would be The janitor's speech in Rudy. What can I say, I like Sean Astin. |

"Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship; but it is not this day! An hour of woe, and shattered shields, when the Age of Men comes crashing down; but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!"

Col. Nathan Jessup played by Jack Nicholson in a Few Good Men. He was the bad guy, but what a great speech. Col. Jessep: You can’t handle the truth! [pauses] Col. Jessep: Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago, and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. That Santiago’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me on that wall, you need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to. |

Either Liam Neeson's character Brian in Taken, not necessarily inspiring but a very good movie speech and really helps make the film: I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. Or one of the main speech's in Team America...which is probably to rude to quote here! |
|
William Wallace’s speech to the army about patriotism and freedom in Braveheart is my favourite. |
|
Definitely General Patton's opening speech in Patton. |

Team America: World Police Terrorist: What do you know? Gary Johnston: I heard there might be a large terrorist attack. If you tell me what it is, maybe I could help out. Terrorist: Get out of here! We have put out a jihad on the infidels because they destroyed our lives. What do you know about pain and sadness? [Gary pauses, recalls sounds of gorillas roaring] Gary Johnston: I was just a boy when the infidels came to my village in their Blackhawk helicopters. The infidels fired at the oil fields and they lit up like the eyes of Allah. Burning oil rained down from the sky and cooked everything it touched. I could only hide myself and cry as my goats were consumed by the fiery black liquid death. In the midst of the chaos, I could swear that I heard my goats screaming for help. As quickly as they had come, the infidels were gone. It was on that day I put a jihad on them. And if you don't believe it, then you'd better kill me now, because I'll put a jihad on you, too. Terrorist: I like you. You have balls. I like balls. |

Here is the best quote ever from the Doc! Marty McFly: Hey, Doc, we better back up. We don't have enough road to get up to 88. Dr. Emmett Brown: Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads. |

Now you will receive us...! We do not ask for your poor or your hungry. We do not want your tired and sick. It is your Corrupt we claim...! It is your evil that will be saught by us. With every breath we shall hunt them down. Each day we will spill their blood till it rains down from the skies...! Do not Kill... Do not Rape... Do not Steal... These are principles, which every man of every faith can embrace. These are not polite suggestions, these are codes of behavior and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost...! There are varying degrees of evil. We urge you lesser forms of filth, not to push the bounds and cross over into true corruption, into our domain...! But if you do you, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three, and on that day, you will reap it. And we will send you to whatever God you wish...! From Boondock Saints, at the end of the first movie. Pretty much the exact same speech if I went vigilante on some dicks and did a public execution on said dicks. |
