How big can a community response of donations be?

Well I am growing this community of technical support enthusiasts. It will have forums. And a donate button. How many donations could we get with .. an average community. Like average traffic, activity, etc. Quite a bit, enough for updates, okay profits, or to make a living (not planning on this one but it WOULD be fun XD). Thanks. We plan to give good advice and quality forums.
