Hello,

I have an easy question; I am using Mac OS Lion, 10.7 on a new mac mini. In the mail app, I switched to classic view, but there is no “reading pane” like outlook has. It is just a list from the top of the window to the bottom of emails. If I highlight an email I like to preview it underneath in the reading pane. Can you assist?

Regards, John

This is dangerous, but what I'm presuming you did was this:

There is a adjustable slider between the messages pane and the preview pane. You might have adjusted the slider all the way down to the bottom of the window, and merely need to drag it back up. You can also to go to the menu bar at the top of your screen and click Mail > Preferences, go to the Viewing tab, and uncheck the "Use class layout" top box, so things can return to how they were.

Hope this helps.
