So I am starting something and I was wondering if it is unprofessional to use Skype for an organization or a group. What do you think? I don't think so. I think of it as a utility. Like if the business relies heavily on Skype?

It's professional! When I had my interview for where I work as a computer repair man, the company used Skype to call me because I couldn't make it to their office. I think it's great they're using it.

There is nothing wrong with using it, skype is designed for group conferencing and is one of the easiest to use programs for this.

Skype is a great product, and many companies use it because it is cost effective and easy to use, little training required. Skype even offers plans for businesses, so there must be a market there.

Skype IS professional and a great tool to any business or at home, I have a couple of German friends here in Australia who contact the homeland at least once a week, not to mention their grand kids who are all over the place. Works a treat
