What about putting it with Windows 7 compatibility settings? Yeah do what @Jackster1337 said and install OpenGL if you didn't already. Don't mind his nasty remark at the bottom. He's butthurt like that. |

Download and install OpenGL..... A 2 year old would know to read what it says on the error message... Can You Give Me A link? I cant fund one that works A link plese! :( BanksCool What kind of Video card are you using on your laptop?? It might be the drivers are missing for it. On some windows Drivers like for NVidia, S# graphics and Intel have them included. Here is the link about Open GL = http://www.opengl.org/wiki/Getting_Started Take a look on your video card if the drivers are installed. If not take a look for them and download them and install. It should help you out easier that way to get minecraft running on your laptop. |

First fallow this guide (http://www.full-windows8.com/2012/03/how-to-fix-opengl-on-windows-8-for-amds.html) to create multi-string value OpenGLVendorName in the registry. Second install previous driver. I am using ATI Catalyst 11.12 I am not sure the first step is necessary but it is not sufficient. |

It's easy to fix.... Step 1. go to device manager Step 2. go to display adapters Step 3. Right click your graphics Step 4. Update driver software Step 5. Choose browse my computer for software Step 6. Choose let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer Step 7. Then choose which ever driver works for you, mine was the ATI Radeon 3000. GOOD LUCK ;) |

It may be incompatibility with the video card drivers, windows 8 and minecraft. You should check for latest updates and maybe you can send an email to minecraft developers regarding this problem. Don't forget to mention that you're using windows 8 |

You need to use AMD's driver for Windows 8. This is the best I can find. Warning: This appears to be an unofficial thread, on an unofficial forums site. The poster claims to work with/for AMD. I don't know if it's actually a driver or a potential virus. This was off a quick google search but others are claiming success with it. I take no responsibility if this screws up your computer. |
