I prefer using the USB installation for many reasons which include the USB installation is quicker and I can erase the USB (at will) and use it as normal after the installation. Unlike the CD/DVD they're small enough to carry around all day (if you want to do that, not judging). What do you guys think? Do you still go with the standard CD/DVD installation or have you moved up to the USB installations for Windows?

USB is much faster than CD and it does not have seek time.

It loads the setup in a 3-4 seconds but DVD takes 30-40.

Coping is quicker as well.

I build 2-3 gaming PCs a week and they hardly ever have CD/DVD drives so USB is a must unless if I netboot them. I find Windows better on USB than over netboot. It can just be funny some times.

I use Flash drives because I am low on funds and would like to not use up my DVD/CDs that only work once. On my older PC that doesn't boot from USB I use plop boot manager.

Still on the DVD/CD installation, I have no problem with it being on a USB, whatever will allow me to install it on a system is good with me. I was trying to install an OS on a netbook of mine by USB, yet for some reason it did not work so I had to pull out the external dvd drive for the netbook.

True...sometimes you just cannot seem to get a computer to boot to USB/flash no matter what you do...
