Trying to root & tether my Cell device. I have the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S1 Epic 4G D700 Gingerbread EL30 2.3.6 Firmware and 2.6.35.7 Kernel version. In watching and reading videos(youtube) and different forums; I can not seem to get it right in being able to root and tether my device. In one instruction I downloaded Samsung Kies Mini. It would not sync to my device. Also in the the settings of the device, I go to the "Applications" and I can go to the "Development" and check USB debugging, but there is no "USB SETTING" for me to check for access or so called sync to "KIES". In another version wanted me to download a Superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip (Zipfile), to my knowledge, I was not able to get this to work, considering the link that was given was closed on the webpage and in finding it on Google, it didn't have the right file pathway for me to install on the device. So, In conclusion, it is now 4:47pm CST. I have been trying to root my device since 11:15am CST. As you can view by reading that is, I have been trying to successfully Root and tether my device. If possible, could someone comment, message, email me or something in given me a possible step by step instruction on how to do so on my device. I am sure I will need help or get stuck at times, so I may have questions later on, in the process. BUT I AM STUCK ON HOW TO DO THIS. Thank you for taking the time to read this & thank you all in advance in helping me out.
