I was just looking at my Computer tab and I just saw under my Bluray drive and under my DVD drive that it says it is a CD drive. Is there any reason why it says that instead of Bluray or whatever?

I noticed that too. Still not sure why.

Most likely because the majority of people think of BluRay discs, DVD discs, and the traditional "CD" disk as just "CD's"

In the end Microsoft probably said "Hey, most people call it that, lets not confuse the user."

To be honest, it's fine whatever it's labeled as. Unless of course it's labeled as unknown, now that would be a problem.

I much rather it be labled as an Optical drive than a CD Drive. I know it's petty for me to be making a big deal out of this but hey, someone had to notice it.

Well there will be some that would like it that way and it is understandable there DJ Scooby Doo. For me I'm more flexible in that department on things. So long as it does it's job. That is all that matters for me. Doesn't matter if it is a windows machines, a mac machine, A linux or unix machine.

I think it is a shorten form for the blue ray drive there. BD could mean Blue ray drive rom for short.
