I have some issues with my SD card reader (its build into my PC). When i put a card in there, i can go into the folder, but if i click on a picture or try to copy it to my desktop, that window freezes, explorer.exe crashes, and then restarts explorer.exe. Its not my camera, and i just bought a new card so...

and ideas?

Does it come up with any error messages while doing it? Or it just locks up and say that the windows explorer not responding.

does the window say 'not responding' and then ask if you want to close or wait?

just wait, it takes a little time for windows to read and create thumbnails for all the pictures.

you can get around the issue by copying the drive in the 'computer' folder and pasteing it somewhere.

another way to see if it is reading the card is to open Task Manager, click on performance tab and then resource meter.

open the disk tab and click on 'read' and the card should go to the top and will be reading the data, once it stops you should be able to access the folders or atleast know that it's doing something.
